About the Birmingham Bull Statue
The Birmingham Bull — officially titled The Guardian — is a celebrated public sculpture created by British artist Laurence Broderick. Installed in 2003, it measures approximately 4.5 meters in length, stands around 220 cm tall, and weighs about 6.5 tons.
Erected as the focal centerpiece of Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre, Broderick described it as a “gateway emblem for Birmingham throughout history,” with the objective of reflecting the characteristics of trade and the marketplace long associated with the bull.
The sculpture has since been named one of the world’s top ten public artworks and remains one of the most photographed landmarks in the United Kingdom — a symbol of strength, prosperity, and civic pride.
Our Lost-Wax Bronze Bull Casting Process
We replicate the Birmingham Bull using the ancient lost-wax casting method, the same technique used by master sculptors for centuries. The result is a solid, weather-resistant bronze bull that will last for generations outdoors or indoors.
