Fur, Claws and Expression, Cast in Bronze
Fur direction, claw definition, a lifelike face and a hand-applied patina make a bronze bear look alive. Here is our recent work.

Start with the setting
Which Bronze Bear Belongs in Your Space?
A bear that suits a private garden may feel too small in a plaza. Start with where visitors will see it, how close they can walk to it and the character you want it to show.
Gardens & estates
A family bear or walking grizzly gives a private garden or ranch entrance a focal point that lasts for decades.

What Size Bronze Bear Statue Fits Your Space?
Compare the sculpture’s height, length and width with the area where it will stand. A walking bear needs more ground space than a seated bear of the same height; a base or plinth changes the overall scale.
| Sculpture height* | Good starting point for | What to check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Under 3 ft (under 0.9 m) | Indoor displays, covered entrances and compact garden features. | Viewing height, base dimensions and whether visitors can walk around it. |
| 3–5 ft (0.9–1.5 m) | Residential gardens, patios, courtyards and smaller landscape beds. | Full footprint, nearby paths and how the bear looks from the main viewpoint. |
| 5–8 ft (1.5–2.4 m) | Hotel grounds, lodge entrances, larger gardens and park features. | Viewing distance, delivery access, pedestal height and space around the sculpture. |
| Over 8 ft (over 2.4 m) | Open plazas, campus landmarks and large public-art settings. | Site-specific engineering, foundation, anchoring, lifting access and local approvals. |
*These are planning ranges for finished sculptures, not fixed product specifications or measured habitat requirements. The pose and base can change the total height and footprint. Confirm a dimensioned drawing for your chosen design.
| Bear species | Adult size in the wild | What this means for a sculpture brief |
|---|---|---|
| American black bear | About 2–3.5 ft (0.6–1.1 m) high at the shoulder when on all fours. | Use the shoulder height as one realism reference; the chosen standing or sitting pose will have a different overall height. |
| Brown / grizzly bear | About 3–5 ft (0.9–1.5 m) high at the shoulder when on all fours. | Allow for the shoulder hump and a larger visual presence; a rearing pose cannot be judged by shoulder height. |
| Polar bear | Can grow up to about 9.8 ft (3 m) in overall length. | A walking polar bear needs a long footprint; length is not its standing height. |
Wildlife measurements vary with age, sex and location and are included for visual reference only, not as Trevi sculpture dimensions. Sources: U.S. National Park Service—bear identification (black and brown bears) and WWF polar-bear species profile (polar bear length).
To compare existing models, the Trevi bear-family design lists an adult bear at approximately 55 in H × 79 in L × 35 in W; the walking-grizzly design lists about 43 in H × 75 in L × 30 in W. Custom versions and bases may differ.

Our Bear Clay Models
The biggest worry with custom bronze is whether it will look like what you imagined. You review the real clay sculpture and request changes first. Only then do we move to casting.

Made for your brief
Pose, Finish and Base Are Part of the Design
- Pose and proportion: use a reference design, or send sketches and photos.
- Scale: tell us the space available and the size you have in mind.
- Patina: choose colors that suit your stone, planting and architecture.
- Base and details: identify any plinth or plaque before pricing.
Ask which changes can use an existing clay model and which need a new one. That can affect project scope.

Before you commission
Bronze Bear Statue Questions Buyers Ask
How do I choose a size for my garden, campus or public space?
Start with the available width and length, not height alone. Note the viewing distance, nearby paths, plinth and delivery access. Send a site photo and approximate dimensions and we will discuss proportions for your chosen design. Public sites should have the foundation and fixing method checked by the local project team.
Can the bear’s pose, patina or size be customized?
Yes. Send a reference design and tell us what to change. Confirm the design, finish sample and any new modeling work in your written quote before production.
What should a bronze bear quote include?
Ask for sculpture dimensions, design and finish scope, any base or plaque, packing, delivery terms and destination. Also confirm whether installation, taxes, site preparation and lifting equipment are included.
Will I be able to review the sculpture before casting?
Yes. Our custom bronze workflow includes clay-model review through project photos and videos before casting. Agree the approval stage and revision scope when you place the order.
Will a bronze bear survive outdoors?
Bronze is a long-lasting outdoor material. A good patina and basic care keep it looking rich in rain, snow and sun. We can give care guidance for your patina and local climate.
Who handles installation and maintenance?
We can advise on installation and care, but foundations, anchors, permits and lifting must be defined for each site. Ask for a written handover scope.
